Mad Girl Eats Peppermill in Vegas

wpid-photogrid_1405376409262.jpg

Peppermill Restaurant and Fireside Lounge, 2985 S Las Vegas Blvd,  Las Vegas, NV.

Retro cool and quirky, Peppermill is an authentic 24 hour Coffee Shop…with a full-blown lounge attached.  Just south of the big action of the Strip, this restaurant offers a big menu with even bigger helpings.

Late night/early morning dining, screams for eggs and bacon. Their omelets are gigantic, add hashbrowns and bacon and you won’t need to eat anytime soon. The dining room is like eating in a garden…. a neon jungle, cheesy garden. It was kind of….charming.

The food came and it was plenty for 2 to share, bountiful and tasty. A behemoth Denver omelet, chocked full of tasty ham, gooey cheese, bright green peppers, and sharp onions. I add, S&P, with a dashy dose of hot sauce and walla, eggy perfection! Yummy hashbrowns, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and smokey crisp bacon. A cuppa joe with these menu choices, and all is right in Vegas. Carry on and win big!

Happy tummy.

Mad Girl Eats Tacos El Gordo in Vegas!

wpid-photogrid_1404871362570.jpg

Tacos El Gordo on the Strip in Las Vegas. 3049 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV.

Found in a strip mall down the Vegas Strip from the Encore and Wynn properties, you will experience original Mexican tacos. Tacos El Gordo prides themselves on brining you fast and delicious Mexican cuisine straight out of TJ (Tijuana).  Real Mexican tacos, not the American version.

Deciding to try a few tacos outside of our comfort zone along with our faves.  Al Pastor, Beef brain, Beef tongue, Head, and Steak. Fresh, fantastic.  Don’t be afraid to try parts you normally don’t find in an Americanized taco joint. Brain, Tongue (my favorite of the “exotics” lol), Head meat. Trip your trigger, people! get the grilled veg when they ask. A delightful accompaniment.

There are 3 lines for ordering, so find the correct one according to meat filling choice.  A busy place, so you know it’s good.

A handful of tables indoors, or covered outdoor sidewalk seating available.

Mad Girl Sips Serendipity 3, Las Vegas

image

Serendipity 3, 3570 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV. More locations around the country.

Directly in front of the mega Caesar’s Palace Resort and Casino, is the pretty and perfectly located Serendipity 3 restaurant and walk-up window. Inside, a large dining area, and outside, a window to get something quick with patio seating available.

Thirsty and hot, the only thing on my mind was Serendipity’s Frozen Hot Chocolate, even though Serendipity has a full menu. The walk up window had a line, but moved fairly quickly. Finally, a beautiful plastic cup of loveliness appeared with full-on whipped cream to delight me like a giggling school girl.

The Frozen Hot Chocolate was rich, not too thick that you’d strain a muscle, and the flavor was undeniable. It was….the flavor of hot chocolate, in frozen form. Go figure. Truly a fabulous treat on an arid day in the desert.

Pricey, but novel and when in Vegas…..you know the rest.

Mad Girl Eats Hash House A Go Go

image

Hash House A Go Go, in the Plaza hotel, 1 S. Main St., Las Vegas, NV. Many more locations.

Hash House A Go Go is more than just a breakfast spot serving hash. It has a full menu for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner…shouting their theme of Twisted Farm Food! The food porn above has you reeling, dying to know what the heck that behemoth dish is, right? Dinner. Andy’s Sage Fried Chicken and Bacon Waffles. Yeah, I know….holy buckets, let’s dive in and feast ’til we pass out!

Tender juicy chicken, light and luscious bacon waffles, maple reduction with fried leeks…it’s all just too much to take in. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with herb fried chicken, then add sweet and savory bacon waffles and top it with liquefied deliciousness. Moaning…..

It’s heavy duty, so makes a perfect dinner to share, readying you for a long night flipping your wig in Vegas 😉 As seen in Bon Appetit, and on the Travel Channel, Man Vs Food, the Rachel Ray Show, and countless others.

Located inside the newly remodeled Plaza hotel, downtown Las Vegas.

Hours: Sun-Thurs 7am-11pm, Fri-Sat, 7am-1am.

Mad Girl Eats Rio in Vegas

image

Carnival World Buffet, Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, 3700 W. Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas, NV.

In search for dinner, where can you find more than 300 dishes and 70 desserts made on-site daily, and rates tops as best Vegas buffet and won’t break the bank? The Carnival World Buffet at the Rio, just off the Strip! When they state ‘World’, they mean it. Taking you on a world tour of cuisine from Japanese to Mexican, Italian to Asian BBQ and everything in-between. The seafood bar and carving stations don’t disappoint either.  Even the most finicky diner will find something mad good to eat. Let’s not forget their playground of dessert. Their gelato..well, lets say I’d do a swan dive into a pool of it if I could.  Holy moly, save room or better yet, eat dessert first. Don’t worry, I won’t tell your mom.  😉

Carnival World Buffet is sensory overload for the eyes as well as the palate. Seeing someone doing the Harlem Shake in their seat over tasting a fabu morsel, is de` riguer.  The food is high quality, beautifully made and presented, and has crazy variety. You know a good buffet when their dishes could stand on their own and be ordered at nice full service restaurant. That’s why this buffet is a must whenever I’m in Las Vegas. Epic.

Go. Enjoy. Eat to oblivion, then walk it off and play.. or go see Chippendale’s upstairs. Whatever floats your boat. It is Vegas, after all. Hootie hoo!

Mad Girl Eats Paris in Vegas!

image

Le Village Buffet, Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, 3665 Las Vegas Blvd S, Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Mission Impossible, the 24 hour All You Can Eat Buffet Challenge. Breakfast choice, Le Village Buffet in the Paris Hotel and Casino right on The Strip. Who wouldn’t want a Parisian breakfast to start the day off with a BOOM BOOM POW?!

After only 4 hours of sleep, I needed huge amounts of coffee, orange juice, and ice water to start. Sip, sip, chug…I’m ready to attack the buffet and bring on breakfast. Fresh fruit, pastry, hash, eggs, and the piece d’ resistance…..the made-to-order crepe bar! Both sweet and savory to choose from, I choose a fresh berry crepe with all the fluff and flurry to boot. Beautiful to gaze at with incredibly equal parts of tender crepe and juicy sweet mixed berries….and fresh chantilly cream and berry sauce atop of this masterpiece of majestic lucsiousness.

Hang on a sec, add a side of slab bacon and you will faint on site. Let me wipe my chin as I drool over the thought of a bite of crepe and bite of their smokey, thick slab bacon carved by the Chef. Ooooh la la. Ok, moving on.

If you’re not into the buffet scene, there is La Creperie walk up counter right there in the Paris Las Vegas “mall”, shops and restos. You can get the same crepe selection, or more, that are in Le Village. Between $9 and $12 bucks.

If you’re in Las Vegas, you must stop into Paris and devour a crepe. Magnifique!

Breakfast buffet approx. $17.99
